Da ist er also nun, mein fertiger Piña Colocada Quilt!

Ich hätte ja überhaupt nicht damit gerechnet, dass ich den Quilt bei unserem traditionellen Quilttreffen in Obing fertig bekomme. Vermutlich bin ich deshalb so happy! Auch die letzten Reste im Rand sind fertiggequiltet, das Binding ist drangenäht und ALLE Fäden sind vernäht. Also wirklich ALLE Fäden...

Und Fotos habe ich auch gemacht: Die Bank, auf der es sich der Quilt bequem gemacht hat, steht am Obinger Skulpturenweg, der um den See herumführt. Eigentlich wollte ich den Quilt noch um eine Holzfigur wickeln, da waren mir dann aber doch zu viele Ameisen unterwegs.

Die bunten Stoffe stammen aus einer gemischten Packung mit Liberty Stoffresten. Alle Unis sind Oakshott Stoffe. Gequiltet ist der Quilt komplett mit der Hand und zwar weitgehend mit Garnen von Valdani.

PS: Der rheinländische Frohsinn hat schon sehr gefehlt in Obing!

So here it is, my finished Piña Colocada quilt!

I hadn´t at all expected to finish this quilt at our traditional quilt retreat in Obing (in southern Bavaria). Probably that's the reason why I am so happy about it! The final stitches are made in the border, the binding is attached and ALL threads are secured. I mean, REALLY ALL threads... ;-)

And I took some pictures: The bench, where the quilt has found a cozy background, can be found at the sculpture path in Obing which takes you round the lake there. Originally, I wanted to drape the quilt round a wooden sculpture, but there were too many ants.

The mulitcoloured fabrics came as a mixed package of Liberty fabric scraps. All solids are Oakshott fabrics. The quilt is handquilted, mostly with Valdani threads.

PS: In Obing, we very much missed the happy spirit from the Rhineland!
